Harsh accusations were flung at the Mayor’s administration last month as spokesman for the opposing Socialist party, Manuel Garcia Albarral, accused one of the Mayor’s Councillors of ‘refusal to pay a parking fine.’
According to his story, Women’s Councillor, Inmaculada Torres, kicked up quite a fuss trying to wriggle out of the fine last June 23rd, which culminated in her calling upon the powers that be (namely her buddy and assistant to the Mayor and chief of Police) to intercede on her behalf.
She managed to walk away from the scene without paying a cent to the tow truck and probably thinking she’d gotten away with it.
But it wasn’t to be because Mrs not-so-immaculate Torres actions are now backfiring on the whole administration who are being accused of taking a ‘do-as-I-say, rather than, do-as-I-do’ approach. Indeed, it is not a very fine example of how any law-abiding citizen, let alone a councillor, should behave.
