Post Problem

Local residents and visitors alike are tired of having to negotiate the ‘assault course’ of left-over posts, which are the remnants of the old wooden paseo.
A previous complaint was taken a step higher to the Ministry of the Environment and more importantly the Director General of Coastal Sustainability, Alicia Paz Antolín have both received the latest details of problems faced on our beach.
The complaint explains the problems caused by the posts that run alongside the road for a good part of the beach from the Punta de la Mona end. The complaint states… ‘They have no function, are aesthetically unpleasing and have been the cause of accidents. The local population has given up hope of counting on a modest paseo next to the beach, to allow children and adults to enjoy themselves, but we just want our beach to return to its natural state, without obstacles causing accidents to our children and elderly folk.’
Reasonable points, well made, and all we have to do now is wait and see if there will be anything done to get the posts removed. At this stage, I will not be holding my breath.
