Better Signposting Needed

At a Town-Hall meeting in Almuñécar, it was agreed unanimously to solicit the Minister of Public Works, to improve the signage for La Herradura and Paraje Natural de Cerro Gordo on the old N-340 and on the A-7, some 10 kilometres prior to arriving at the village.
The motion was put forward the PP representative, Juan José Ruiz, who says that since the inauguration of the Maro to La Herradura stretch of he A-7 he noticed that the signage at kilometre 296 at Maro, informs drivers of the distance to Almuñécar, Motril and Almería, “but nothing about La Herradura or the Paraje Natural Acantilados Maro-Cerro Gordo, as a place of environmental interest,” he said.
On the other hand, the meeting gave the green light on plans to get the road maintenance crews to asphalt the area of ground at the top of barranco Las Tejas, where it joins the main N-340. That’s the rough stretch of straight barranco that runs up alongside the football ground. I think they are talking about the top of the barranco and the area used as a lorry park. As we all know, you take you life in your hands pulling out onto the main road from the pitted dusty parking area, with next to no grip at all, so a nice bit of grippy asphalt would be a bonus.
