(This article was originally published in July 2009 and is visible now so that readers can look at what was happening on the Costa Tropical back then.)
Work continues on the roundabout at the top of Barrio Espinar.
The trees have all been removed, the riverbed widened and the reinforcing rods placed. When I last looked they were filling the bridging area with concrete, which was being supplied by a regular delivery of concrete in mixers which were driven the wrong way up the one way system to reach the works.
I only mention this, because in my stupidity, whilst rubber necking to get a good view of the works, I very nearly drove headlong into a cement mixer coming up towards the site. Had I at least taken notice of the two men waving their arms at me, I perhaps wouldn’t have looked such a cock!
But there you go… more importantly, the works seem to be on time, and the finished article will of great benefit to all road users in the town.
