Winter’s Not Over

If you were thinking of breaking out your flip-flops and suntan cream this weekend, you had better head for your gloves & scarf instead.

The semi-public company that runs the Sierra Nevada ski resort will be in tears enough to melt the snow because there’s a strike at Easter.

The figures offered by the Junta de Andalucía yesterday for the province of Granada show a slight increase in the contagion rate.

The queue of cars on the N-340 entrance for Salobreña was backing up, such was the amount of drivers trying to enter the town.

These figures are a week after the Día de Andalucía bank holiday and don’t seem to reflect a general increase in contagion.

There will be no changes to the restrictions in place in the province of Granada, as hoped, except for one concerning gatherings.

There are very few municipalities, as today’s figures show, that are over 500, and even fewer over 1,000 per 100k within the province of Granada.

Today, there are only twelve municipalities in the whole of the province that have perimetre restrictions, which is a far cry from a month ago.

Guardia Civil mountain-rescue service was called out on two rescue missions on the Sierra Nevada over the weekend of the 19th/21st of last month.

The Sierra Nevada ski resort had a good weekend – the snow might be fast disappearing on the south side but on the north side, there’s still plenty.
