The Central Government in Madrid has said that it sees no reason why seabed prospecting for oil cannot take place off the coast of Motril. It reassures those concerned that the Royal Decree that gave the go-ahead to CNWL Oil España in 2010 only permits the said company to carry out its exploration work as long as it strictly observes all the environmental precautions in the area.

A resident in the Matagallares area of Salobreña was suspicious of a young couple that were taking ‘too much interest’ in his neighbour’s cortijo, so he phone him. Alerted, the owner phoned the Guardia Civil at 23.30h to say that he was on his way out to his cortijo and that it would be jolly nice if they pop round, too.

The Policía Nacional have arrested a 19-year-old lad for his alleged involvement in an “express kidnapping;” which is holding someone for relatively small amounts of money, with the victim being released within hours or a couple of days maximum.
Almuñécar Bank Robbers Rumbled

The Guardia Civil has managed to identify the two suspects from the bank robbery that was carried out in Almuñécar on the 19th of April. One of the suspects, a 24-year-old from Málaga, has already been arrested.
