Motril Police Confiscate Eight Gun Replicas.

After the Policía Local in Motril received a phone call from concerned members of the public about a man, armed to the teeth, firing shots into the air in a busy street, they decided to pop around and have a look.

They found the said gentleman, firing off rounds into the air in Calle Monderos, and upon arresting him and searching his car, they found seven other replica firearms, consisting of everything from assault rifles to para-bellum pistols.

The said firearm replicas were a G36C, a G36K, an A47 with magazine a M92F pistols, a G36K, and a sniper rifle complete with telescopic sight.

Spanish law stipulates that these kinds of weapons can only be used on installations, such as paintball courses, which does not include shooting up the town centre of Motril.

Unsurprisingly, the weapons – imitation or not – were promptly confiscated and the culprit – a man from Padul – is helping the police with their inquiries into whether he has a licence for them.
