
Lower temperatures, higher humidity and an abscence of wind helped fire fighters working on the Los Guájaes fire line last night.
Whilst wild fires roared in many areas of Spain during the heatwaves of July, there was one in particular that was a little different.
It was last October that a farmer in Los Guájares was acquitted for having caused a forest fire through negligence.
The Vélez de Benaudalla fire was declared “controlled” around 17.00h Saturday. The fire broke out the previous day causing a large column of smoke near the canyon.
