Tow Truck Trashes Car

A judge has ordered the City Hall of Granada to hand over 5,744 euros in damages caused by its tow truck. Apparently, the vehicle was insufficiently secured and came free, crashing off the back of the vehicle.

Failing to Protect

The Regional Supreme Court (TSJA) has found the City Hall of Granada guilty of failing to protect a local from decibel contamination. Put another way, the Council did not act against a pub that was making the neighbours’ lives unsupportable.

A Penchant for Debt

Last year, the City Hall of Granada, like many municipal administrations, received a loan from the central government so that they could pay off their outstanding debts to local merchants and traders up until the 31st of December 2011; a total of 107.8m euros.

Forced to Fine?

The municipal police in Granada have complained that they are being coerced by the City Hall to issue fines. This follows two weeks of working to rule; i.e., strictly following regulations, which means that fewer fines are being issued because they are issuing warnings, rather than fines.

Woman Receives Compensation

A woman had just parked her car on Calle Pintor Soriano Quirós (Granada), opened the door and climbed out when instead of placing her foot on a firm pavement, she literally fell into an open manhole. The metal cover was missing and had been for around a month, because somebody had stolen it.
