Curry Charity

Alpujarra Chocolatada…

La Chocolatada fundraising initiative took place at the Puerta de la Alpujarra Campsite on Saturday, 30th October to raise much-needed funds to assist Mysmallhelp.UK in partnership with the Peruvian charity, Paksay.

Pedals and Heroes

We include a resume send in by John Allan, who actually pedalled across Spain to raise funds for the Help4Heroes charity, whose aim it is to provide support for members of the British Armed Services that have suffered death or multilation in the line of duty. The highest praise and congratulations to Allan for his selfless gesture, amazing achievement and personal dedication to helping others.

One for the Diary

the Fundación Fabretto at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla, which is situated within the grounds of the Alhambra. The auditorium is considered one of the best in Europe and the best in Spain.

Magic at the Mirador

(NW) Well what a successful afternoon was had at the Mirador de Cerro Gordo on Saturday 10th July. The charity event was organised by Anne and Keith Harwood who raised a grand total of 2020 euros on the day, in aid of the Gastro-intestinal cancer fund.

Baracoa Fundraiser

Joaquín from El Chambao de Joaquín held his annual fund-raising event on July 23rd and 24th at Plaza Nueva in La Herradura. From what I have been told, the fund-raiser was to assist the town of Baracoa in Cuba with funding for social installations such as schools and hospitals.

Charity Shop Recognition

Did you know that the AECC (Spanish anti-cancer association) has been around for 15 years? Whenever you enter their little charity shop, by the steps to the Municipal Market, you will most likely see Maria Jara Peñalver, who is the most ‘permanent’ of the 12 volunteers, who keep the shop and the association going.
