Magic at the Mirador

(NW) Well what a successful afternoon was had at the Mirador de Cerro Gordo on Saturday 10th July. The charity event was organised by Anne and Keith Harwood who raised a grand total of 2020 euros on the day, in aid of the Gastro-intestinal cancer fund.

Whenever you enter their little charity shop, by the steps to the Municipal Market, you will most likely see Maria Jara Peñalver, who is the most ‘permanent’ of the 12 volunteers, who keep the shop and the association going.

Plastic Frankenstein

Two years ago I had to discard my cured olives after I had noticed that the vinegar had dissolved the lining of the plastic jar. The idea of consuming liquefied plastic just was not very appealing. Ever since I wanted to write an article about plastic and health risks and frankly the research about it sounds like coming from Frankenstein’s laboratory.
