The Bridge to Nowhere

Quite a few years back we published an article on the bridge over Río Guadalfeo that was to both connect the Salobreña seafront to the Motril’s Playa Granada, as well as to give alternative access to the N-340 Granada junction.

Blocked, Bridge Arches Cleared

The arches of the old bridge over the Barranco Las Tejas had become clogged with vegetation, washed down by the recent rains. Fortunately, the Town Hall has now rectified the situation, removing the debris.

Lorry Park Suggested

The Partido Popular put forward a motion in the last plenary meeting of the Town Council, suggesting that the large space under the autovía bridge over the Río Verde should be utilized as a lorry-parking area.

For Almuñécar the road-borne misery is over… or is it? This summer, the Taramay roundabout could be very congested, with cars coming off the autovía to join the N-340 and meeting heavy traffic coming from Salobreña – normally in the form of tailbacks.
