OK, let’s face it, there’s not much chance of drowning in a river along this part of the coast during summer, but falling into a dry riverbed from a bridge must hurt. This photo was taken in December, mind, when the river was more active.
And that is what happened to a 40-year-old man who fell off the N-340 bridge over Rio Guadalfeo – nobody is quite sure how yet.
The 112 emergency number received a call around ten in the morning of 2nd August; the Guardia Civil and the Policía Local, together with medical staff and firemen were dispatched.
The man had suffered a fractured ankle from the fall and was taken to Santa Ana Hospital in Motril.
