The investiture plenary meeting of the Almunecar town council has just concluded, with Trinidad Herrera receiving the necessary eleven votes to obtain the absolute majority to become Almunecar’s first Mayoress in its 2,500 years of history. Even on the very eve of the swearing-ceremony for the new mayor of Almunecar tomorrow, the 11th of June, nothing is certain… Well almost; Almunecar is certain to have its first ever mayoress.

Now, with the election night just under a week ago, more information has been forthcoming. For example, the defection of Daniel Barbero from the Mayor’s councillor list had catastrophic results over in La Herradura, which will be covered in that section.

Touching on the local elections, yet again, it is worth pointing out that nowhere was the defeat of the Mayor’s party so keenly felt than in La Herradura, with the CA coming in behind the PP (most voted for) and the PSOE.
