Touching on the local elections, yet again, it is worth pointing out that nowhere was the defeat of the Mayor’s party so keenly felt than in La Herradura, with the CA coming in behind the PP (most voted for) and the PSOE.

Nobody was really that surprised after Dani Barbero stomped off in a huff over the hierarchy order of the candidate list for the Mayor’s party. No official reason was given, but on the very eve of the CA presenting their candidate list, Dani simply walked off, leaving the Mayor with his main La Herradura name empty.

There was never a lot of love lost between the Mayor and La Herradura, but with Dani’s departure, the CA took a monster hit and it probably cost Juan Carlos Benavides the elections.
