Almuñécar’s Acuario opened its doors yesterday, as announced by the Mayor last week, after four years of remaining closed.
Almuñécar Town Council announced that the Aquario will be reopened this month, after having been closed several years.
Before you conjure up images from Jaws, the following encounter between the two was in the Almuñécar Aquarium – and it was amicable – nobody ate anybody.
The Almuñécar bird park and the aquarium are being privatized. Whilst the former will open at the beginning of August, the latter will not be ready this summer.
The Councillor for the Environment, Luis Aragón, accompanied by other Town Council officials including the Chief of Local Police went to the Aquario to explain the situation. Also invited was Aliart Engineering S.L; i,e., the company that will be running the company once the new lease is sorted.
The decision was taken in the last plenary meeting of the Almuñécar Town Council to annul to existing lease for the Aquarium.
The workers at the Almuñécar Loro-Sexi bird park and at the Aquario are not impressed because they haven’t been paid a penny in three months.
