Noisy Neighbour Shot At

A Policía Local officer is standing trial for shooting at a noisy neighbour. He is facing three years’ imprisonment if found guilty. According to the Public Prosecutor, the accused shot at the said neighbour four times after an argument over the noise he was making.

Town Hall Closes Bank Accounts?

The Salobreña Town Hall has announced that it will close down its bank account in any bank that carries out evictions.
Furthermore, the Mayor, Gonzalo Fernández, says that he will give instructions to the municipal police not to participate in any eviction unless their presence is specifically ordered by a judge.

Twice Evicted

Órgiva held its third year of the Castañada Alpujarreña, which was organised by the Ayuntamiento de Alpujarra de la Sierra, with a helping hand from the Ayuntamiento de Órgiva. The result was hundreds of kilos of chestnuts were roasted and handed around to locals and tourists.
