The Sinking of Alfamar

You carried a letter in your November edition contrasting the respective situations of the Alfamar and Carmenes del Mar urbanisations in respect of work being undertaken, or otherwise, by various arms of government to stabilise the hillsides on which they sit.

Hiking Outing to Lentegí

A group of 40 hikers from the Almuñécar walkers club carried out an excursion between lentegí and Almuñécar. The said club is organised by the Municipal Sports Board.

German Paraglider Pilot Rescued

A German paragliding flyer/pilot/jockey/under-slung attachment had a flying accident up in the Gelibra area of Almuñecar. Protección Civil, firemen, the Policía Local in Almuñécar and the Guardia Civil mountain-rescue unit took part in his rescue.

The Torrox Town Hall has lodged a complaint against one of its own Local Police officers for allegedly threatening to arrest the Mayor.

Failing to Protect

The Regional Supreme Court (TSJA) has found the City Hall of Granada guilty of failing to protect a local from decibel contamination. Put another way, the Council did not act against a pub that was making the neighbours’ lives unsupportable.
