Farewell Cash, Credit Cards, and Cash Registers!

Have you ever wanted to not have to use (and carry) cash or credit/debit cards and not have to deal with long lines at cash registers? Well, by 2020 (a mere 8 years away) there is a reality that we could face which is that the majority of payment transactions will be made electronically.

Now That The Summer’s Over

…The La Herradura maintenance crews are out, continuing with the task of renovating the pavement along the Paseo de Andrés Segovia. Work recommenced in front of the Hombre del Mar monument.

New La Herradura Classroom

The school parents association (AMPA) and the Head of the junior school, Las Gaviotas, begun a new school year with an extra multi-purpose classroom, which has been built by the Town Hall down the side of the school playground.

La Herradura Makes The National Lottery

The First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz Joya, has announced that the National Lottery Organisation has agreed to use an image of La Herradura Bay on its lottery ticket on the 18th of October, to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the shipwreck of the Spanish Fleet in the village’s bay.

Across The Bay Race Held

La Herradura finally held its swimming competition with 80 swimmers taking part. Estela Orozco and Marcos Álvarez took the women’s and men’s first places, respectively. There were prizes for the kiddies and veteran swimmers, Ángel Galdo, was handed a plaque.
