Carrington Surprise
by David Darby •
It is a truism to say that I have mentioned Carrington Builders in these pages on previous occasions, mainly because if you need any kind of building work done, large or small, they really are the people to get in touch with.
The “surprise” is not that well known about though… Bob and his trusty team may be able to sort out any project, from a new pool to a large conversion, but his wife Debbie can turn a simple wall into a work of art
Arrayanes Events
by David Darby •
Things are rather lively down at Hotel Arrayanes on the Cotobro beach. Not only are they putting on a fantastic Valentines Menu for just €35 on both the 13th and 14th of February, but you can also pop along on any Wednesday at 4pm and enjoy a Traditional Tea Dance! Mercedes is even putting on cucumber sandwiches and scones, and all for just €5!
MW Service

Is all your paperwork together? If you are relocating here to Spain or even if you have already settled here, you may well find the MW services people very useful to know.
Bed Solutions
by David Darby •
How’s your back? Do you sleep well, or are you a tosser and turner? Are you on the large side, and maybe find it difficult to get comfortable. Or maybe you are just due for a new bed.

La Ventura
by Editor •
The Ventura restaurant in Almuñécar is closed for holidays from the 11th of January to the 26th. Without doubt, Rafa, Fernando and the rest of the crew deserve a break and hopefully won’t be practicing any terminal adventure sports that will put their regular clients’ prospects of enjoying their homely cuisine into jeopardy!
Help for Heroes
by David Darby •
The H4H Charity are having a fundraiser on Friday 29th January at the Peña Parda restaurant in La Herradura at 11am, where there will be a raffle, with coffee and hopefully a few donations in aid of soldiers wounded whilst serving their country.
If you can make it down to the Peña Parda, your support will be much appreciated.
Shakespeare!
by David Darby •
The fantastic Trentham Shakespeare Company is coming to our area to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The company was formed in 2006 and the company’s first production was in fact A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and included many of the actors who will be performing here in Spain.
Joaquín for Cuba
by David Darby •
This yearly event in the Parque Majuelo in Almuñécar should not be missed, with a giant paella prepared in spectacular style by Joaquin, Cuban music and other entertainment, it really is a great day out.
