A worker on a construction site in Salobreña on Calle Portichuelo was injured Thursday afternoon after the collapse of a wall. The accident occurred around 17.00h in the excavation work going on for a block of apartments under construction..

A 061 ambulance was despatched whose paramedic first treated his injuries on the spot before taking him to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril. Also despatched were the Guardia Civil and a unit from the Motril Fire Department.

Obviously, work on the site came to a halt and the Policía Local cordoned off the area. Town-Hall, building inspectors have evaluated the state of the excation work looking for signs of possible further areas where a collapse could occure.
