About a year and a half ago we ran an article on a hotel waitress who had put bleach in the guests’ food because she was not a happy bunny with not having her employment contract extended.

The public prosecutor recommended a 3-year, prison sentence, which would have actually meant her being locked up as anything under two years is an automatic suspended sentence, unless you are a habitual offender.

Well, her lawyer entered a plea deal and will only have to face a 1-year sentence, and as she has no criminal record, it will be a suspended one.

You can read all about the case by following the link above but basically It happened in late May 2023, with the first case of lacing food on the 26th, when she put bleach into a bottle of milk in the bar that was for staff use.

Five days later, on the 31st around 21.00h (just hours before her contract officially ended on the first of June) she decided to go a step further, “with the clear intention of causing harm to the establishment through food poisoning,” (reads the court findings) she went to the buffet dessert area. There, she poured a glass of bleach directly onto a tray containing yogurt, pineapple, and watermelon, foods that were ready for consumption by the hotel guests.

However, hotel guests saw her doing it and raised the alarm, thus preventing anybody consuming them, although the stench of bleach would have prented that, logically.

As stated above, her lawyer entered a plea deal which was accepted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office whereby she fully confessed to the facts and accepted a one-year prison sentence, as well as special disqualification from running for public office for the same period and the payment of procedural costs.

Editorial comment: I’m sorry but this woman is not right in the head. Keying the boss’s car is one thing if you not happy with getting the sack but putting bleach on hotel guests food or in a drink to be consumed by fellow hotel workers is bunny-boiler crazy. This woman should have to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
