The XXVII Feria Gastronómica opened yesterday afternoon in its usual location in the Parque El Majuelo, and will run until Sunday afternoon.
Over the weekend, residents and tourists can get to grips with a good selection of gastromic goodies provided by around a dozen stalls put up by local restaurants, bars and mesones.

Mayor Ruiz Joya said that this culinary event is the kick-off for the summer season in Almuñécar and if the unusually hot weather is anything to go by, then he is right.
The Vice Chairman of the Asociación de Hosteleros del Valle Tropical, José Muñoz Frontana, expressed his gratitude to Almuñécar Town Hall for continuing to support this initiative.
He also estimated that the event in the park would attract between 5,000 and 6,000 members of the general public, both from the town itself, as well as neighbouring ones.
For the first time, Asociación de Fandango Cortijero will be offering tasters (tapas) of traditional recipes rooted in local culture. Furthermore, the Ecomercado is back with its sustainable, organic, and zero-kilometre, local produce.
