La Nacla Pedestrian Infrastructure

The Mayor of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro, together with a gaggle of councillors, visited La Nacla to see how the pedestrian pavement improvement was going.

The section of the La Nacla road, in the area known as Cartujilla and Residencial San Nicolas, lacked pedestrian access coming from the existing path on the right-hand, uphill side, as well as adequate lighting for pedestrians in the area.

This project aims to improve mobility in this environment for the residents of San Nicolas and La Cartujilla by creating a pedestrian path and crossings, plus street lighting. This is being financed by the 2025 Agricultural Employment Promotion Plan (PFEA), costing over 105,000 euros.

This work has a double benefit in that it not only improves or provides missing infrastructure, but also gives employment to locals – there is an unemployed pool from which the labourers are taken.

So, if you are living in that area of Motril, things are looking up!
