Thanks, Trump!

The illegal, US-Israeli war against Iran is pushing up prices, but you'd never guess where.. condoms!

The world’s biggest producer of condoms, Karex, which supplies major brands like Durex, has warned that prices could rise by around 30% due to the conflict.

Now this report came from the Guardian, which some might consider slightly on the left-wefty side but even so, this is just further indication that Trump’s ridiculous war is hitting us below the belt.

Apparently, the Malaysia-based company plans to raise prices, “if supply chain disruptions are prolonged due to the war with Iran,” according to Karex, CEO, Goh Miah Kiat.

All we talk about is the price of oil at the pump but Trump has managed to completely disrupt other commodities, such as synthetic rubber and nitrile used in manufacturing to packaging materials and lubricants, as well as aluminum foil and silicone oil.

Not only is there a shortage of supply, but there is also a greater demand for condoms, which has grown by 30% this year. Yes, so prices could go up 30% and demand has risen by 30%.

Karex produces more than 5-billion condoms annually and amongst their customers are the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and global, aid programmes managed by the United Nations.

Is nothing sacred!

Thank you, George, and yes, boycotting is a manifestation of the will of the population as opposed to their government, and is very effective and are the people’s message to both their own leaders, as well as the leader of the boycotted nations.

There are phone apps out there (I have one) which tell you where the item is produced, as well as online article that tell you how to spot a country’s Bar-Code designation on items.

  2. George says:

Would not a complete boycott of all commercial products from the aggressive states have a greater effect than mere words? If every individual in Europe refused to purchase products and services originating in or produced by companies headquartered in these countries I suspect that the resulting howls of pain from the organizations involved might sway the decisions of their leaders. Democratic activism will eventually overthrow authoritarianism.

I am almost speechless at the direction this thread has taken.

The “Nazi” Comparison: Critics and some Israeli opposition members have drawn comparisons to historical regimes because the law creates a dual legal system based on national or ethnic identity. Historically, Israel has only used the death penalty twice, most notably in 1962 for Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann.

According to intelligence services, Mossad knew about 7th October in advance and let it happen.

I cannot believe Israel knew nothing was coming, nor can the troops moved away from the border. The hostages were badly let down.

Don’t take my word for it, check it out

If anyone aligns themselves in any small way with the level of moral depravity in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and if you attempt to justify or excuse it with any story, real or imagined, then you have fallen into a state of spiritual dereliction that leaves no trace of humanity in the scattered rubble of your soul.

  5. Martin says:

Wow! And you call me Adolf? Bye!

  6. Philip Verstrepen says:

Adolf, you said : you said 70.000 killed : men, woman, children. On purpose out of your jew hatred you did not mention terrorists killed. That is distortion of the truth, and you think you are a reporter ? You are no more than an advocate for terrorism. You even defend the terrorist practise of using human shields. How low can you fall ? Of course palestinians are scum, Israël knows it and so do Egypt and Jordan. They elected a terrorist governement, they ( like you jteach their children to kill and hate jews.
They celebrated and participated in the oct 7 terrorist attack on innocent civilians. They get what they deserve. Tell me, how come that 20 yearsafter Israël left Gaza, there were still more than 100.000 living in refugee camps ? Where did all the billions of aid go to ? right : weapons and tunnels and rocket launchers in hospitals and schools. Discussion closed. Next stop the flotilla makes in Barcelona board the ship and go live in Gaza with your racist antisemite friends. Bye,bye !

  7. Martin says:

So, the mask is off, Philip “Palestinian scum” Are you sure you don’t want to call them “vermin” like the fanatics in the Israel government? And you accuse others of antisemitism when equating 2,000,000 Gazans and several million West Bank Palestinians as “scum”?

Oh and I missed something you wrote earlier. I said: “70,000 Gazans slaughtered” and you come back with: “70.0000 babies and women killed in gaza?” I did not say that; those are your words that you are attempting to put into my mouth. Classic, straw man.

Hiding behind civilians? Another pro-Israel American excuse. If there is a bank hold-up and they take hostages and use them as human shields, it is because human morality dictates that you don’t shoot the hostages to get at the bank robbers. Furthermore, the Israel High Court found the IDF guilty of using Palestinian civilians as human shields when they were going house-to-house; they would pick somebody up off the street and push them through the door first.

So, Philip, with your own words, you have qualified the IDF as scum.

  8. Dids Hall says:

I read these comments and wonder if we all live in the same world.

Criticising the fact that there cannot be ANY Hamas terrorists in 70,000 dead? Even if there were 10,000 terrorists that is still 60,000 innocent lives lost, creating thousands more anti US/Israel haters within the surviving families.

As to the recent acts of piracy committed by both Israel and the USA. The fact Hegseth admitted they destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities LAST YEAR.
The triple tap from a US Tomahawk on a girl’s school.

The cost of this “war” is too high. Morally and financially.

    Enough is enough!

  9. Philip Verstrepen says:

Martin,it is plain and simple, Israël is only defending itself against terrorists hamas,Hezbollah, houthi’s etc. If that coward scum deliberately hides themselves between civilians the collateral damage is on them. Why is Egypt or Jordan not letting the palestinian scum in ? On oct 7th your so called “civilian palistinians” were spitting at and beating up innocent girls taken hostage by your friends. You feel sorry for terrorists been killed by the IDF ? These pagers belonged to hezbollah terrirists, they got what they deserved. You are just a die hard jew hater, that is all. There are 2 million aras living in the democracy Israél. There is no jew living in gaza. I am sure you were celebrating the recent attack in London and are looking great in your leather boots. Get some treatment for your severe TDS !

  10. Martin says:

This has nothing to do with jews and has everything to do with Israel, Philip, and any other country on earth, especially one that claims to be a democracy that would dare behave as Israel is doing, would provoke a more than justified global condemnation.

The Israel policy on the West Bank is disgusting and brutal and I cannot believe that somebody is leaving comments on this site claiming that Israel is being treated unfairly.

And yes, Northern Ireland is very, very relevant. I’m British and I was in the forces in the 70s and I know what our squaddies had to put up with. You just do not do what Israel is doing, with unjustified destruction of homes and infrastucture.

The IDF shoot kids for throwing stones, The IDF deliberately targets the press and first responders with their double-tap. They took out an 80-year-old, blindman in a wheelchair in a crowded square (he was the spiritual head of Hamas) with a missile kill slaughtering civilians because they know that they can get away with because people like you can be depended upon to make excuses.

They took out a convoy of first responders then claimed that the vehicles had come at them without lights & sirens so they opened fire. When they dug up the body of one of those murdered paramedics they found mobile footage that showed exactly what really happened and the IDF had to back peddle.

They bobby-trapped hundreds of paging devices, not knowing nor caring who had them in their possession nor where they were standing when they went off. That, Philip is tantamount to sending letter bombs and not carrying who handles them. That, Philip is 3D, indisputable terrorism!

When they ran a bulldozer over an American girl who was trying to protect an old woman in a house that they wanted to bulldozer, not giving a damn who was inside, the Yanks and people of your persuasion, Philip rushed to make excuses for it.

Criticism of Israel for what they are doing with impunity on the West Bank, Gaza and now Lebanon is well deserved.

You know full well that the present leaders are fanatics describing Palestinians as vermin that do not deserve to live. The callousness of these fanatics is absolutely disgusting and Bibi is joined at the hip with them because he knows if he gets thrown out he is going to prison for corruption.

Now, we know that you can’t sneeze in the direction of Israel in America but this is not America, thank Christ. This is Spain and Bibi and his band of psychopaths that form his government are indisputable war criminals – full stop, and quite frankly I couldn’t give a damn if they were Muslims or Outer Mongolians because it changes nothing.

Let’s not forget that the Israelis not only let Hamas (waved them through the check points by the bus load) onto the occuppied terrorities because they wanted to create competition for the PLO, but they also even funded them! What a tremendously idiotic thing to do! What lunatic thinks that replacing a political terrorist group with a religious-zealot terrorist group is a great idea?

Finally, and let me guess, you are a Trump supporting American, right?

    No more excuses.

  11. Philip Verstrepen says:

Martin, Criticism of Israel isn’t inherently antisemitic. But there is a line where criticism crosses into language or framing that unfairly targets Jews as a group or holds Israel to standards not applied elsewhere.
On the civilian casualty point, those numbers are heavily disputed and depend on the source ( the terrorist organisation hamas in your case ) in fact 22.000 were hamas terrorists. the situation is far more complex than a simple “civilian vs terrorist” breakdown. And the fact that you only mentioned civilian casualties is typical for the jew haters.
Your comparison to Northern Ireland isn’t quite equivalent either. Different conflicts, different actors, different tactics, and different geopolitical contexts.

Also, bringing up Saudi Arabia or 9/11 doesn’t really strengthen your argument, Saudi Arabia signed the Abraham accords, your protegees, the religious extremists, hamas are only out for the distruction of Israël.
Throwing around terms like “terrorist state” against Israël is more proof of your antisemitism. Israël left Gaza in 2006 and all they did was spending billions of international aid on building tunnels and rocket launchers.
If i had to choose between having to live in Israël or in Iran i know what my choice would be. I hope you are not gay, would not be so wise living in Iran.
    Enjoy your day too.

  12. Martin says:

Philip, it is becoming increasingly ‘weak’ calling all criticism of Israel as “antisemitic” Not all Jews are Israelis and not all Israelis are Jews. In fact, the majority Jews around the world who are not zionists are digusted by what Israel is doing. As for your straw-man argument that I am saying that all deaths in Gaza are civilians: according to IDF’s own records only 17% of those killed were terrorists, meaning that 83% were civilians. Since when have small children and babies been terrorist, Philip?

The fact is (and this is what pisses me off the most) had the British Armed Forces behaved in Northern Ireland as the IDF does in Gaza, bombing and shelling whole districts of Ulster flat, bulldozing homes with people in them, you and everybody else what have gone mad, but as it’s Israel, that’s just fine and dandy and no criticism is permitted.

So, keep your knee-jerk accusations of antisemitism against anybody who dares to criticise the biggest nation-terrorist state in the Middle East – Israel.

The Saudis are home to the most Islamic extremist sect in the world, the Wahhabi and it wasn’t the Iranians that flew planes into the Twin Towers but the Saudis. Osama bin Laden was a Saudi Prince!

Apart from that, have a good weekend and thank you for sharing your views 😉

  13. Philip Verstrepen says:

Typical antisemitic narrative Martin : 70.0000 babies and women killed in gaza ? Not a single hamas terrorist ? Shall we compare terrorist acts against innocent civilians by jews with those commited by arabs ? Shall we compare freedom for civilians in Iran against Israël ? Your iranian idols are nothing but religious facists.

  14. Martin says:

Hi, Philip. Can you define a “terrorist nation.”

Careful because the US financed terrorism throughout Central and South America as well as Asia.

Israel was founded on terrorism: zionists put bombs on buses, in crowded markets in cinemas and one of its firm PMs was a convicted terrorist.

Let’s not forget the Lavon Affair in 1953 when Israel decided to plant bombs in American and British-owned civilian targets: cinemas, libraries, and American educational centres in Cairo and then blame it on Arabs.

And whilst on the subject of not forgetting, I personally will not forget that the US did bugger all to stop its citizens financing the IRA so that they could bomb pubs etc in the UK, etc.

  15. Philip Verstrepen says:

Nothing illegal here. A war against a terrorist nation is always justified. Same goes for gaza. IDF doing a great job ! Respect

  16. Martin says:

Hi Nick. Do you really think that Trump gives a crap about Iranian civilians being massacred, after threatening to erase the whole Iranian civilisation? Do you think that Trump or Biden gave a crap about over 70,000 Gazans slaughtered by the IDF; men, women, children and babies? That figure is probably too conservative as there is no idea how many bodies are buried under the rubble.

What I personally find fascinating is that the same justification used for the 2003 Iraq Invasion is being reused now over Iran. I ran a poll, interviewing foreign residents on the streets back in 2003 about whether they thought the war was justified and your comment here, fits in perfectly as if 23 years hadn’t passed.

The fact that Iran, or Persia as it was at the beginning of the 20th Century, has been repeatedly screwed over by the west because of its oil seems to flutter by, undetected, by Trump apologists. Nobody remembers that Iran had a democratic government in 1953 when Britain convinced the Yanks to carry out a coup and overthrow the government in order to install a puppet dictator, equipped with a sadistic secret police trained by the CIA.

When the Iranians finally had enough and the revolution came about, the Shah fled to the States where he was given ‘temporary’ sanctuary. The States refused to hand him over so the Iranians took hostages and demanded a swap, but Americans only remember the embassy hostages, not why they were taken. Washington didn’t make the same mistake with Saddam Hussein, did they?

So, here we are, and the Reform acolytes or the individual European equivalents and not to mention those so derranged by Trump that they still defend him, accuse Nato members of not having a backbone just because they are pretty pissed off with being shat on by Trump with whimsical sanctions and threats to invade Greenland.

I’m ex-forces and I agree with Trump that the Europeans were not doing enough for their own defence, especially as it now not only faces Russian and China, but also the USA.

As for the Iranian people? The Ayatollahs are as bad as the Saudis, but the Iranians don’t need anybody’s help to overthrow a dictator’s regime; they’ve already done it once, but let’s see if we keep our hands off them when the do, eh? 😉

  17. Nick says:

Hmmmm, speaking personally, if our government had killed between 6,488 people to upwards of ~36,500 protesting people ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Iran_massacres) I would be rather glad someone had the backbone to step in and help, rather than the “left-wefty” European governments who would doubtless rather spend years forming committees to discuss how they could appear to be taking action without actually doing anything , however I’m sure if president Trump had known it was going to increase the price of condoms he would have saved the American taxpayer billions of dollars and played a round of golf instead…… there you go a tongue in cheek comment based on the ethos of the Seaside Gazette, (rather than your rather head in the sand article? )
