Salobreña Parking Area Inaugurated

After having been sat, pristine but closed up for weeks, Salobreña has inaugurated the new parking area next to the mini, bus station.

Apart from the expanse of freshly laid tarmac and the parking-bay markings, it also has around 100 saplings and public lighting.

So, what’s the point of having such a large parking area on the other side of the main road? The answer is that during peak months it is hoped that visitors will park there and take the municipal bus into town, instead of going round and round in the centre of town or down in the beach area, looking for parking.

There is also a new roundabout next to the small gasolinera near the bus station, which will be the new entrance for buses, it appears.

When we say it’s a large parking area, it’s because there is room for 278 cars within its 16,388 sq/m area, including spaces for drivers with mobility problems.
