The two ungrateful little ladies had claimed that they had mistreated them to the police. However, a date for the hearing had been set, they recanted, realising that they had gone too far. But the wheels of justice were already turning.

The father was tried and acquitted, and the sentence became firm after passing through the provincial law courts.

Nobody said that parenting was easy…

The incident that sparked the whole affair occurred in 2022 in the northern part of the city of Granada, whilst the parents were going through a divorce, which had a lot to do with the claim being made in the first place, it seems. The mother had testified that he had hit them, which she claimed to have witnessed.

Now, this “witnessing” was via a video call with the girls where they said that he was hitting them… She said that she saw him hitting one and pulling the hair of the other whilst calling them, “sluts” and “whores.”

The father, Domingo, admitted that he had reprimanded his daughters because they arrived late, but denied having laid a hand on them. He stated that “on the day in question, an argument began in the family home motivated by the fact that (…) the two minors had returned very late from the town fiestas. During said argument, he in no way hit either of his daughters, nor did he pull their hair, nor did he direct offensive expressions at them.” Hmmm…

So, things were in the balance until the girls retracted the version of the events. Thus the version offered by the mother was contracted by both the husband and now the girls. The girls said that he did reprimand them and told him that they wanted to live with their mother, but he neither assaulted them or called them names.

And if parenting isn’t easy, then getting kids through a bust up is even harder.
