We haven't covered the train accident because it was widely covered in national & international press, (and now there has been a second one). However, we can cover how it affects our province.
Provincial Council
The Granada Provincial Council has suspended its agenda planned within the framework of the national tourism fair in Madrid, FITUR.

However, the Tourist Board Stand will maintain its activity for sector professionals and business meetings.
The Mancomunidad
The Association of Costa Tropical Municipalities confirms the suspension of its institutional agenda planned for FITUR. The regional entity will only maintain its activity for industry professionals and technical meetings.
Almuñécar
The Mayor of Almuñécar confirms that municipal representatives will not attend FITUR. Only the Head of the Tourist Board will attend to fulfill the schedule of meetings and support business owners who wish to participate.
Mayor Juan José Ruiz Joya said, “We cannot ignore the drama and tragedy we are experiencing after the train accident. There are 40 fatalities, thirty missing persons, dozens of injured—many of them serious—and the only thing we can do is express our condolences to the families, wish for the speedy recovery of the injured, and pray that the missing can be recovered alive.”
Motril.
Motril Town Council joins other public institutions such as the Junta de Andalucia and the Granada Provincial Counci; however, technical and professional meetings scheduled for the coming days will be maintained.
Editorial: so, everybody says that they will not be attending… sort of, but business as usual.
