A road accident between two cars on Wednesday night, along the N-340 where it passes through the municipality of Motril, resulted in five injured.

According to 112 emergency services, the accident occurred after 23.30h when two vehicles collided near kilometre point 331, which is right next to the new, western-end, roundabout access to Motril.

The centre mobilised the Motril Fire Department, 061-service amublances, the Guardia Civil and a Road Maintenance crew.

Those injured were two women, aged 21 and 31, and three men, aged between 26 and 38.  Fire personnel managed to pull two people out who were unable to extract themselves because of the wreckage or because of their injuries.

All of the victims were taken to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.
