Guess where the lowest temperature in the whole of Spain was recorded on the morning of the 6th! The answer was the Sierra Nevada skiing-resort village.
The temperature there (Pradollano) was recorded as -17.3ºC at 09.40h, according to data from the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (Aemet).

Coming in at second place was Molina de Aragón (Guadalajara) with -14ºC at 05.40h and Cap de Vaquèira (Lleida), where it also dropped to -14ºC but at 09.30h.
For the 4th and 5th lowest temperatures we return to Granada with the area around Radiotelescopio de Sierra Nevada (unsurprisingly) with a teethchattering -13.9ºC at 09.40h and Laguna Seca, which is also on Sierra Nevada, at -13.4ºC at 09.40h.
Perhaps it would a good idea to rename the Sierra Nevada… the Sierra Nevera (icebox).
