During the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day period, the Emergency Coordination Centre, 112, handled 3,590 incidents, which is a 17.74% increase compared to 2024 figures.
Those 3,590 calls were handled between midnight on the 24th until 07.00h on Christmas Morning. Of this number 1,825 corresponded to requests for medical assistance and 713 over public safety.

Most of the calls came in between 13.00h and 14.00h when 189 calls were received in a single hour.
As for where the calls were coming from, Sevilla was the province with most calls (bear in mind that it also has the highest population of all the provinces of Andalucía. This was followed by Málaga (754), Cádiz (467), and Granada (465).
The weather paid a large part in the situation as the Junta activated the Special Emergency Plan for Flood Risk in Andalusia (PERI) in its pre-emergency phase (Situation 0). This was because An Orange Alert for heavy rain and hail was activated in the Axarquía area (Málaga).
Consequently, approximately 30, rain-related incidents occurred in municipalities like Rincón de la Victoria and Vélez-Málaga, including flooded homes and temporary closures on the AP-46 motorway.
