Three people were injured in a nasty road accident in a tunnel on the N-340 where it passes through Torrenueva Costa.
The accident happened around 23.45h on Saturday night when two family cars collided head-on within the tunnel.

According to the 112 emergency coordination, call-centre, two of those injured, both men, aged 23 and 31, were severely injured, whereas the third person, a 22-year-old woman, was slightly injured.
The call centre despatched the Motril Fire Department, the Guardia Civil and a road-maintenance crew, as well as a 061 ambulance.
Whilst the rescue operation was going on – victims had to be cut out of the wreckage – the N-340 was closed to traffic in both directions for almost three hours. In fact, normal traffic flow was not reestablished until gone two in the morning.
The 061 ambulance with a medical team onboard and gave first aid to the victims once they had been freed from the wreckage, before rushing them to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.
