Salobreña Town Hall has been finishing off the new car park next to the bus station on the other side of the main road.
The Town Hall calls it parking disuasorio because you are dissuaded from taking your car into town and rather, encourage to take a municipal bus from the station.

The tarmacked surface is already laid and this week they will mark out the 278 parking slots with white lines, if weather permits; i.e., it doesn’t rain.
Mayor Javier Ortega explained, “It has been thought that in the future the view from the main road of the parking area won’t be an expanse of tarmac but will instead eventually have trees providing shade.”
This new parking area has an area of 16,338 square metres, bordering on Avenida Gabriel Guirado, the bus stop-cum-station and the football field. In other words, it’s part of the area used as the fairground.
