Three people, aged between 35 and 45, have been brought before the courts as the alleged perpetrators of arson, damage to a vehicle, and attempted burglary, amongst other crimes.
These men reportedly raided a scrapyard and several workshops in the Province of Granada, with these actions taking place during the month of September.

Their alleged exploits began with the theft of a tow truck from a scrapyard in the town of Churriana de La Vega, where various tools and valuables were also stolen, in addition to another vehicle and a trailer.
The three individuals involved, who all have mechanical knowledge, had coordinated with each other to steal specific makes of vehicles on commission in order to obtain specific parts for profit from their subsequent sale to individuals and scrapyards in the province of Granada.
Their first theft was that of a tow truck because they needed one to steal vehicles from car-mechanics’ workshops.
Their modus operandi consisted of using the tow truck to transport the vehicles to somewhere out of sight, allowing them to work on them and remove the parts that they were looking for. In one case, the perpetrators even took one of the vehicles to a secluded area within the municipality of Dúrcal and set it on fire to destroy evidence of the crime, after having removed several parts from the chassis and engine.
The Guardia Civil based in Armilla was in charge of the investigations, during which officers learned that an attempted vehicle theft using the same modus operandi had taken place at a workshop in Motril, and that the alleged perpetrators had been arrested by the Policía Nacional.
The Guardia Civil assembled all the information from CCTV and eyewitness accounts, together with other input that led to the Policía Nacional arrest, leading to the above-mentioned men’s arrest.
The investigating officers were able to recover a large quantity of the stolen items and vehicles.
