A driver in her early 70s crashed into a car and three motorbikes, distracted by a large spider beside her.

This occurred on Calle Joan Miró in Palma de Mallorca yesterday after the 72-year-old driver yanked on the steering wheel as a reflex action, running into parked vehicles, upon seeing the spider leering at her.

Officers belonging to the Policía Local de Palma confirmed that nobody was injured, although the spider probably suffered a panic attack.

The driver told the officers that seeing the spider made her jump, which they duly made note of for their report and then set about trying to find the owners of the other vehicles involved.
