This very popular beach on the La Herradura side of the municipality is going to have see work carried out on its access lane.

Four contracts have been approved, in all, worth more than half a million euros between them for different projects around the municipality of Almuñécar.

The Councillor for Contract Awarding, Rafael Caballero, (who is the also the PP’s Party Spokesperson and the Chairman of the Mancomunidad) explained that these four contracts are for public, green-area maintenance, street cleaning and…burials and exhumation in the Almuñécar and La Herradura’s cemeteries.

The company awarded a 2-year contract was Bagelsa Costa Tropical, with a budget of 93,170 euros a year, with the contract being extendible for another two if mutually agreed.

The contract for the improvement and drainage of the Camino de Cantarriján went to Viales Progreso, with a budget of 107,000 euros and the work to be completed within a period of two years.

Another contract was awarded to Realturf for the ‘renting’ of the grass for the Las Tejas football ground in La Herradura, with a budget of 261,360 euros. The company also has to improve the sports equipment and furniture (seating) there.

Lastly, the MobuArtex company will install five theme gates on beaches in Almuñécar and La Herradura with a budget of 64,002, euros, and the work to be carried out within a maximum period of two years.
