The Judicial Department of the Guardia Civil in Tui arrested a man in his 50s in Paradanta (Pontevedra, Galicia).

The 55-year old, who is a sort of healer-cum-medicine man, stands accused of Offences against Liberty & Sexual Integrity. The Spanish term is curandero, which also has the connotation of being ‘a quack.’

He was arrested on the 21st of August, suspected of “taking advantage of people by selling herbal curatives in exchange for sexual gratification.”

According to the Guardia Civil, the reason that he gave to his patients for this “fee” was that the spirit who possesses him can cure people through his body.

Well, it appears that the injections that he provided didn’t involve a syringe…
