An elderly Almuñécar man went missing yesterday morning and social-media got to work spreading the message, with good result.

The 82-year-old man, Carlos González Velasco, had gone missing a little before 14.00h from his home on Calle Tesorillo, which is next to the Antigua Sexi high school.

On social media, someone had said that they thought that he had boarded a bus to Nerja/Málaga, which turned out to be the case, as he was spotted in Nerja visibly in a confused state.

He was approached to confirm his identity and the number given on the Missing Persons platform was contacted immediately.
