An Interrupted Breakfast

Having a car crashing through your table probably wasn't what customers had asked the waiter for when they ordered their breakfast.

However, that’s what happened on Friday morning around 09.40h on the outside terrace of a small bar in Torre de Benagalbón (Rincón de la Victoria) when a driver lost control of the car after a collision with another vehicle and ploughed through people sat having their breakfast.

Four people were injured, including the driver as a result of the accident on the small bar terrace on Avenida de la Axarquía

The emergency coordination centre, 112, despatched the Guardia Civil, Policía Local, ambulances and the Málaga fire service, the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos (CPB).

Those injured were taken to Hospital Regional Universitario de Málaga after receiving primary treatment by the paramedics: a 61-year-old woman whose condition was described as stable, a 48-year-old man needing surgery with a condition described as moderate/serious, a 35-year-old man with slight injuries who as soon discharged and a 48-year-old woman whose condition was unknown at the time of writing.
