The Policía Nacional in the city of Granada arrested a 28-year-old man, allegedly caught red-handed removing the wheels from a parked car in a shopping centre’s outside, parking area.
This incident took place around one in the morning on the 18th of last month when the suspect, accompanied by an accomplice, was rumbled by private, security guards employed by the shopping centre.
The security guards tipped off the Policía Nacional who immediately whizzed round to the said parking area. They found a vehicle on bricks as it was already missing three wheels. They found the fourth wheel with its nuts already removed — this would be a fitting punishment for the culprits, perhaps…
They quickly searched the immediate area and found an individual “wandering around,” whose description matched the one supplied by the security guards. He was asked for his ID and then arrested.
Furthermore, whilst checking the parking area, they came across another car, matching the one that had been targeted in its make and model. Inside were the tools used for removing the wheels on the other vehicle.
Searching the suspect they found the car keys for this second car. Finally, in a nearby street, they found one of the missing wheels.
