Many old hands in La Herradura will have bopped at the old Discoteca La Kasbah, which finally closed its doors last year. Well, now it has been converted into tourist flats.
The name of the complex is Marsalá and the businessman behind it is none other than Vicente Barbero, who has the large ferreteria in the village and also runs the Almuñécar water park, Aquatropic.

At the inauguration was the Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, who is a herradureño himself, as well as family and friends to wish him well with this new venture.
However, the person who is going to run it is his daughter, Patricia. Vicente also has words of praise for María and Cristina Barbero García, from the B+B Arquitectura y Diseño studio, for having brought the project into being.
Mayor Ruiz Joya, had words of praise for Vicente after touring the apartments and installations in general and words of encouragement for Patricia, who took some convincing by her father because she had worked until now in the different world of Social Welfare.
The complex had a budget of 800,000 euros and the design was drawn up by the above mentioned architect studio. The actual building work was carried out by local company, Construcción Chopi. It has an area of 450 sq/m and is on two floors. The four apartments are small, between 32 and 40 sq/m but each has a balcony terrace.
