A 60-year-old man died in his swimming pool yesterday after receiving an electrical discharge.
Even though the emergency services arrived promptly, there was nothing that could be done for him.

The emergency coordination centre (112) received a call at 00.50h to say that a man on Calle Claveles in Marbella had received an electric shock and had fallen into the pool, unconscious.
A full range of emergency vehicles and personnel were despatched to the scene; the Policía Local, Policía Nacional, the Marbella fire service and an ambulance. He was pulled out of the pool but all attempts to revive him failed.
The body was taken to the Instituto de Medicina Legal for an autopsy, which will establish whether the discharge killed him or whether he drowned whilst lying unconscious in the water.
