A diver had to be rescued yesterday and taken by an air-ambulance helicopter to a hospital in Eastern Málaga.

The emergency coordination centre, 112 received a call at 10.50h saying that a boat had pulled a diver out of the water in front of Marina del Este.

The diver had been floating, unconscious, about 200 metres from the shore, according to the said emergency call centre.

The Guardia Civil, Policía Local and the helicopter were despatched, with the victim being flown straight to a hospital in the Axarquia.
