And now for something completely boring... Salobreña has been tarting up the municipal market with licks of paint all around the exterior.
They have also spruced up the flowerbeds and improved the lighting in its surroundings. According to the Town Hall press release, they have also paid some attention to the entrance ramp for the underground parking facilities beneath the market.

The Councillor for Commerce, Plácido Leyva, said that this was only the first phase and that the second one would involve work withing the building itself.
There are also new vendors in the market with the arrival soon of a barber, a hairdresser and a bakery, amongst others. There’s even talk of an egg-stall, which is a bit risky with the Americans invading anything that they’re short off… just saying!
So there you have uninspiring topic turned into Gazette-style gibberish. Have a nice Sunday!

Reader’s comment: “At least their market looks like an actual market. Not some glass mostrosity from the ’70’s.” – Sarah Rana
Sarah, you would have loved the original Almuñécar municipal market – not the one that they recently demolished which was built in the mid 80s, but the one before it, which was round in shape and on two levels with an open courtyard in the middle. It used to be going down Avenida de Andalucía on the right. In fact, the street that is on is still called Calle Lonja – Martin
