The project is at a standstill because of its connection with the said main road; any alteration to which has to be approved by the Central Government.

For this reason, Mayor Javier Ortega had a meeting with the provincial representative of the government, José Antonio Montilla, together with planning experts working for the Demarcación de Carreteras de Andalucía Oriental. 

Previously, the DCAO had rejected the alterations proposed by the Town Hall to give access to the planned hotel in the El Pargo area, Hotel Capullito, as well as the request for a junction where the Bodegas Calvente installations will be (opposite Hotel Miba) .

The Mayor is confident that there only remains “some small points to sort out” within the project so that it can be sent off to Madrid for approval with the backing of the Demarcación de Carreteras de Andalucía Oriental. 

The provincial representative considers that the two projects are important ones and therefore there is a need for the sticking points to be removed.
