A 2-month old baby died in the early hours of Sunday in La Herradura.

According to the emergency coordination centre, 112, they received a call around 05.30h and despatched an ambulance with paramedics on board.

Despite its parents initial desperate attempts for the child to regain consciousness, followed by the efforts of the paramedics, it all proved to be in vain.

The first hypothesis point to a cot death, although protocol dictates that the exact cause of death must be established through an autopsy.

The Policía Local de Almuñécar-La Herradura have expressed their most sincere condolences to the family and offer their full support in these difficult moments.
