A British man on a flight from Alicante to Manchester caused such a disturbance that in the end the other passengers had to physically subdue him.
Spitting, bitting and even foaming at the mouth were some of the things this man did over the space of half an hour during the three-hour flight.

When the police boarded the plane at Manchester Airport, it was to find him, and pinned to the floor face down.
This all happened when Christopher B., aged 44, was on his way back to Manchester on the 8th of November, 2023, but his trial has now come up.
During his trial for the incident on the EasyJet flight on the 8th of November, two years ago his defence lawyer said that his client felt deeply ashamed and wanted to apologise for his offensive language to a police officer. He also said that his client had been on holiday in Spain when he received news that his mother hand been hospitalised, suffering from sepsis and was seriously ill.
The Public Prosecutor, on the other hand, said, “They could clearly smell intoxicants, he was slurring his speech and frothing at the mouth,”and that those passengers with young children held felt the need to shield their young ones.
The police had trouble arresting him as he kept his arms under his body. They also had to put an anti-spitting hood on him.
In fact, Christopher B. continued with his aggressive behaviour on the way to the police station, threatening the officers and shouting racial insults. He was interviewed the following day in the police station and said he didn’t remember what happened.
The judge sentenced him to 24 weeks imprisonment and observed, “It is a deeply distressing and terribly frightening experience to be in an aeroplane when somebody, such as you, behaves in a totally aggressive and difficult manner.“
