In a Plenary Meeting of the Lanjarón Town Council, the PSOE asked Mayor Eric Escobedo precise information about when the roadworks will recommence.
Before we go any further, the article refers to the A-348 that links the A-44 to Lanjarón and further into the Alpujarra Granadina where all construction activity has been absent for months.

According to the Partido Socialista (PSOE) the Mayor did not want to respond, setting aside a possible response for the next Plenary Meeting in three months’ time.
“The situation is untenable,”said the Spokesperson for the local branch of the PSOE, José Andrés Chaves, adding, “We have been waiting for years for this key infrastructure for Lanjarón and the Alpujarra and the lack of any advances or information from the authorities is unacceptable.”
The PSOE demands that the Town hall and the Junta de Andalucía take urgent measures to sort out the technical and administrative problems that have halted all work on this stretch of the A-348 and that a precise date for work to continue be known.
“We cannot let this project languish indefinitely,” said the said Spokesman, adding, “We need a clear answer and a firm pledge from the administrations so that the new access for the Alpujarra becomes a reality as soon as possible.”
