Dozens of locals and public-health-service staff gathered in Torrenueva Costa to protest against the acts of violence against health workers.
The protest, which was held in front of the doctor’s surgery on Thursday the 6th, was to demand more security in centros de salud publica.

This protest was not planned but rather was a spontaneous reaction to the acts of agression on Thursday the 30th against Doctor Alejandro Aguilera.
According to the Town Hall, this occurred when a female patient tried to physically attack the doctor after an argument over an administrative matter.
“The woman had already been behind previous incidents in the Centro de Salud,” said Doctor Aguilera, adding, “On this occasion she started shouting and when I asked her to leave, she started to hit me but I managed to restrain her until the police arrived.”
At this point, the woman confronted the officers before being handcuffed and marched off.
The Town Hall issued a statement: “We cannot permit that cases of violence become the norm in our public health facilities.”
