Cotobro Hanging Bridge

Torrenueva Costas has a hanging bridge and now everybody wants one - fair enough. This time it's Almuñécar which wants one to go in Cotobro.

The Chairman of the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa Tropical de Granada, Rafael Caballero, together with Mayor Juan José Ruiz Joya, and a provincial representative, Antonio Díaz, presented the idea at the Feria Internacional de Turismo (FITUR) in Madrid.

Chairman Caballero explained that the elevated walkway (hanging bridge) would connect Cotobro beach to the Playa El Muerto and that the project is in its final planning stages. It will be financed by the Provincial Council as part of the project to create a network of paths along the Costa Tropical.

The Mayor, on the other hand, said that the project has been very much in demand by the residents of the Marina del Este in the last few years. He also pointed out that the hanging bridge will be right in front of the Parque Azul de Vida Submarina (projected underwater park).
